Out of the Cold Emergency Shelter

Donate To A Cause

The OTCS runs on a small budget to cover staffing costs and provide supplies that are not donated; such as phone service, alarm service, taxi chits for emergencies, some food staples, laundry costs, etc.  All of these costs add up!  In the past the OTCS has relied on employment grants, individual donations, fundraisers, and small community grants to cover operating costs. Even small donations make a big difference. If you are interested in physically donating items.

Please note we are not accepting physical donations at this time as the shelter is closed and no staff are on site till the fall.

Our Charitable Number: 108031881RR0001
Please make clear in any donation that it is meant for Out of the Cold. We are technically a program of St Matthew's Church and use their charitable number therefore it is important to make clear the donation is meant for Out of the Cold.

Fundraising

This is a great ways to raise money and awareness about homelessness.  Concerts, coffeehouses, BBQs, auctions, 50-50 raffles, art sales, or any other creative idea can help us raise money are greatly appreciated.

Grants

A large portion of our operating funds comes from community grants.  Do you know of a grant for which the OTCS would be eligible?  The majority of our costs are for staffing, so any employment or staffing grants are especially useful.

Community Sponsors

After staffing, one of our largest expenses last year was laundry service.  Please let us know if you know of an organization or company that would be willing to provide laundry, or other useful services.
